Ruth is a long-time yoga practitioner and an experienced yoga and Pilates teacher. She teaches weekly classes online and in Surrey and London as well as holding yoga retreats worldwide. She runs a busy 1:1 therapeutic practice for people with a wide variety of needs, from athletes recovering from sports injuries to people living with chronic health conditions.
Ruth has been teaching yoga for over thirteen years, she trained at the Yoga Academy on the 200-hour BWY accredited course informed by the teachings of Tirumalai Krishnamacharya and T.K.V Desikachar. In addition, she has studied yin and restorative yoga intensively with Simon Low and Judith Hanson Lasater. As a hypermobile person, Pilates has become integral to her own practice and in 2013 Ruth qualified to teach mat Pilates with the leaders in informed movement and rehabilitation, Polestar Pilates UK. Ruth is a SOAS graduate, where she earned a master’s in 2020 in the Traditions of Yoga and Meditation. She is currently undertaking a PhD at King’s College London, researching mind/body experience and practice within several South Asian contemplative traditions.
